As some of you may know, I love YouTube. I’ve been watching tech YouTube channels since 2008 when I was searching for Apple Mac Pro reviews. This is before You Tubers was a thing, now most of the YouTube channels I watched years ago such as UrAvgConsumer are now YouTube celebrities. They went from unboxing in their Livingroom, to now, full blown studios, which is amazing!
Till this day, my wife asked me why don’t you start your own YouTube channel? To be honest, I’m shy in front of the camera, so there is some fear. But also, YouTube has become very competitive today.
Back in 2008, you can get away with bad quality videos but today, it’s a combination of delivering high-quality video (4K), creating great content, engagement, branding and keeping up with the latest reviews.
This is why I put together the best smart home tech YouTube Channels You Should Watch in 2019 and beyond. Some of the channels have been around for a couple of years, some are just starting out, but both show the combination as I mention above to qualify as a good smart home tech YouTube Channel.
So, without any further delays,
Best Smart Home Tech YouTube Channels You Should Watch
Smart Home Life
When I first begin to watch smart home tech on YouTube, Smart Home Life was one of the first to pop up. Joe Dugandzic, the founder of Smarter Home Life, has been working with home automation technology for over 25 years. So, you can say he knows a thing or two about smart home tech.
Located in the Pheonix area, Joe decided to leave IT and web development career in 2015 to focus on creative work and online content creation.
Joe started his YouTube page back on February 20, 2014, and was able to grow his subscribers to over 33,000 subscribers and views to 5,560,436 as of March 2019.
Smarter Home Life is your destination for home automation and LED lighting product reviews, industry news, how-to content, Q&As with the audience, and much more.
Latest update: The Smarter Home Life has been archive since late 2019. Currently, the YouTube page is still available, but no additional content will be created.
We would like to thank Joe Dugandzic for all his years of hard work and dedication in the smart home community. We wish you much success in all your future endeavors.
Automate Your Life
Automate Your Life was a page I found scrolling through YouTube in search of home automation ideas. The branding colors in the videos caught my attention and from there I dug a little deeper into Automate Your Life YouTube page.
Brain Read is the founder and CEO of Automate Your Life and his goal is to tackle everything from Google Home, Amazon Alexa, Apple Homekit, and everything in between. Brain is also driven such as myself to make people’s lives easier through smart home technology.
Automate Your Life’s most popular videos are Google Home product reviews and smart home updates. Joined YouTube back in 2017, Brian went from a hobby, to now over 25,000 subscribers and 3,038,200 views as of March 2019 and growing. Due to his YouTube growth, Brian decided to quit his job and go full-time content creator. To learn more about Automate Your Life, check out Brain website by clicking here.
Undecided with Matt Ferrell
Matt Ferrell founder of Undecided started the YouTube channel to explore and share his passion for smart technology. Matt videos are very unique and go a little deeper than just scratching the surface of smart technology.
Undecided with Matt Ferrell is focus on home automation, Tesla, drones, and whatever else catches his eye that involves tech. Matt not only talks about it but lives with every product that’s in his videos, No bluff.
Matt goal is to try and bring a unique perspective on each topic that you may not have heard elsewhere in the tech community. Undecided with Matt Ferrell first video was published on Jul 1, 2018, and has already surpassed 20,000 subscribers and has 1,442,512 views as of March 2019, simply amazing!
Review comment from Undecided with Matt Ferrell! Cool!
Kevin The Tech Ninja
Kevin Kether founder of The Tech Ninja is not your typical smart home YouTube channel. Kevin talks about anything from tech gadgets, smartphones to smart home technology.
Kevin is from Detroit Michigan and has a passion for creating engaging YouTube videos. Even with his massive 200,000 subscribers and 24,272,097 views, Kevin still works full-time as eLearning Analyst at Member Driven Technologies and a part-time top content creator.
Both his YouTube channel and Website has amazing content which I don’t know where he finds the time with a family, playing sports, and a full-time job, but that shows you the passion and fun he has with each new video. Kevin is multitalented as he also has a passion for cinematography.
Kevin The Tech Ninja brought a home recently and started getting more involved with smart home technology. Kevin is very transparent when it comes to his videos and you will learn a lot as he specializes in reviews and tutorials.
Majestechs
Chris Majestic is the founder of Majestechs YouTube channel and his passion for computers and technology. Created in 2016, Majestechs is best known for his expertise in Smart Home Theater Systems, Smart Theater Projectors, and Smart Home Audio.
Chris delivers such high-quality video reviews I am shocked he only has 78,000 YouTube subscribers but that’s far from any disappointment. The Majestechs YouTube channel is dedicated to delivering tutorials related to modern technology and gadgets with a whopping 10,214,516 views as of March 2019.
Mr. Majestic is from Baltimore, Maryland, and does it all from shooting, editing, scripting, producing, and marketing his own content. Chris is a full-time Media Specialist at MediaDex and a part-time content creator but you can learn more about Chris on his YouTube channel, Majestechs.
UrAvgConsumer
I remember watching Judner and Ariana on YouTube before their fame. I became hooked to the channel because of their relationship reminded me of Melissa and I when we were dating. Now married, they both continued to show their love for one another.
Till this day I am just blown away from his growth of unboxing the latest tech in his Livingroom to now a YouTube Celebrity that’s worth over $400K.
Judner started this channel on January 1, 2012, and like most YouTubers, for the love of tech giving us his opinions on it.
With the success of UrAvgConsumer, they went from living in an apartment to buying a house in Belleville, NJ which allowed Judner and Ariana to build a smart home from scratch.
Just like Chris Majestic, UrAvgConsumer produce very high-quality video reviews
The channel has an audience size that rivals that of traditional television of a very impressive 2,329,661 subscribers and 257,386,409 views and growing as of March 2019.
I am so proud of this Brooklyn native and his relentless drive in the tech industry. If you want to watch someone build a smart home from scratch, I highly recommend you subscribe to UrAvgConsumer YouTube Page.
